12 Easy Ways to Tweet
Recently we talked about starting up your first Twitter account. A lot of people will shy away from doing so because they feel they don’t have any extra time for Twitter. Here are a few ways that you can tweet easily and quickly so you use very little time keeping your Twitter account up-to-date and full of happy followers:
1. Tweetmeme – I’m sure you’ve seen them everywhere. The little Retweet buttons at the top of everyone’s blog posts. If you’re reading this on my blog, you can see it to the top left. It enables you to tweet the article you are reading and displays a tweet count. It’s pretty simple. Just click the button and in the next window, login with your Twitter credentials and it will be tweeted. It’s an easy way to tell your followers what you’re reading and offer them content that you, yourself endorse.
2. TwittyTunes – TwittyTunes is a Firefox plugin that works if you have FoxyTunes installed. It is a button that you can click and tweet whatever you want. What you’re listening to, what you’re reading, etc. in your own words.
3. Shazam – Shazam is great for music lovers. It is a mobile app that allows you to hold up your phone to any music, and after a few seconds, it tells you what the music is and who it is by. It then allows you to tweet that information, and post it to Facebook.
4. Twitpic – Login to Twitpic with your Twitter login and password and then click on settings. Twitpic provides you with an email address to which you can send photos you might take with your mobile phone, or that might be on your hard drive on your computer, and it posts them to both your Twitpic account and your Twitter account.
5. Tweetdeck – Tweetdeck is a 3r party Twitter platform for your computer and your mobile phone. It allows you to manage multiple Twitter accounts and add as many different columns as you like so you can track keyword searches, @mentions, direct messages and much more. It is free and is by far, my most used Twitter tool.
6. Twitter Tools – Twitter Tools is a WordPress plugin that posts a tweet when you add a new post to your blog. Install it once and it does it for you.
7. Twitterfeed – Twitterfeed allows you to take any feed from any blog or any site at all, and it send it to your Twitter account. So, if you took my blog’s feed and added it to your Twitterfeed account, every time I posted a new blog, it would be broadcast to all of your followers. It’s another set-it-and-forget-it app for those of you with no extra time to tweet.
8. Facebook – Set up a Facebook page for your business and opt to “Link Your Page to Your Twitter Account”. As soon as you authorize the automatic tweeting, it automatically tweets every update posted to your Facebook page.
9. Ping.fm – This is a powerful tool that allows you to login and post a message once, and it gets sent out to all of your social media accounts. Ping.fm supports Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, LinkedIn, Plurk, and many, many more. You can also get a Ping.fm bookmarklet to rag to your browsers toolbar for one-click access to Ping.fm on any page.
10. TwitterMail – TwitterMail will allow you to set up an email address so that when you send a message to that address, it gets posted to your Twitter account. The perfect tool for those of you who spend most of the working day with your head in your email!
11. Social.com – an easy bookmarklet that you can drag to your browser’s toolbar and use it to Tweet with one click.
12. Futuretweets.com – This service stores tweets you save and posts them in the future, according to a schedule that you set.
These are all extremely easy and take very little time after the initial set-up. The return you will get for the small investment of time, is amazing. People love Tweeters who tweet frequent, interesting info and they will more often than not end up at your web site… and that’s never a bad thing.
